EVERY CHILD IS AN ARTIST – Picasso
I run art classes for children aged 7 – 14 in my leafy Eltham studio. The studio looks out over the pool area with the Gumtrees in the distance and local birds singing. It’s a very serene setting.
My other job is working at a private girls school in the Art Department. This gives me exposure to current trends and ideas that are always changing.
The thing I love about teaching children art is that their minds have no pre set ideas or learned rules of art. They can soak much new information up and turn it into something so much more freely than often an adult can.
We have fun exploring topics your child is interested in; this can be the key to keeping them interested enough to really explore their art. We will draw, paint and illustrate in the topics they show interest in. At times with weather permitting we will sit outside by the pool area and sketch from life. That may be the trees, the water, the birds, insects, my puppy and the list goes on and on.
By then end of each Term I would like your child to have a piece of art framed in a contemporary frame that they are confident with to hang on a wall or even give as a gift as a gesture of the love they put into their work.
I also have a current Working With Children Check and can provide those details.
My classes are capped at no more than 8 students, so please book early. I also have the option to run private one on one lessons.
Can’t wait to see your child in my class.
