In the studio

Working in this little mudbrick studio at the infamous Montsalvat Artists Colony in leafy Eltham Victoria, just beckoned for me to capture the space in my artwork.

The studio was always light filled and cosy and you could often spot the local Peacock ‘Percy’ peeking in through the little foggy glass windows.

Sitting on the ground level on a wooden chair I set to work. My pastels churned out some dust over those sittings and did I have some inspirational fun and of course frustration too.

These original old buildings were hand built over last century by an ever growing community of local artists, tradespersons etc.

I will always love Montsalvat and its surrounds.
