Description
This piece of art was made for an art exhibition at the infamous Montsalvat artists colony in the leafy Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia.
The theme for this show was ‘Layers/Beneath the surface’.
As you can see I concentrated on the layers of Marilyn Monroe’s divine ball gown and delved her deep beneath the surface to her own land of make believe on her best turtle mate. The title Make Believe came from my idea that Marilyn’s life was mainly a make believe type of existence that came to a halt all too early for this strong woman warrior.
My work does tend to lean to the vintage times gone by and I have a real feeling of this whenever I create.
Please love my work if you choose to purchase this original piece and let Marilyn tell you a story each time you pass her on your wall.
