~Divine you have escaped the cage, your wings are stretched out, now fly.~
I do love my early Friday’s when I only work a half day. I’d mostly dash home, whip up a quick lunch for my home schoolers; but more often stop at my favourite Pattisiere and grab some homemade pies and a cake each for the boys and I. It’s time for school to go back next Tuesday but I will miss being with them on my half Friday’s.
I should do the housework then but will be happy to sit and draw at my little table that looks out to my little deck.
Many paths to take but we can be lead by a powerful pull that is all encompassing. It’s all up to us.
Thought I should upload a pic of this commission I have completed. It is of significant importance to the customer as they holiday down this way often and he was specific with his criteria to have his girls included and some other attractions, but overall I had artistic license which is fun and challenging. This is a large oil on canvas.
This work was done as part of my illustration course and I was required to re create a book cover. I chose the children’s book Goodnight Me Goodnight You written by Tony Mitton.
I think my ideas for the composition of placing zebras and goldfish in a layout is starting to work. Will be finished soon, stay tuned. I am loving working with animals in my work. Have the bestest Monday.
I’m blocking in this painting of a little girl on her camel in Western Australia in a place called Broome. I am hoping to capture the rich colours and vastness of this incredible landscape. This is a bigger piece and I will share the finished work with you soon. If you haven’t travelled to the West put it on your list.
