National disaster – work in progress
I have to paint you and immortalise your heroic selfless acts in that of rescuing our vulnerable, sick Koalas left to fend for themselves often on their own after our fires. You are the hero.

National disaster
So much darkness, heat, smoke, loss of life, nature and belongings.

Ink, pencil, pastels and gouache in my journal
Cruising down highways with flowers in her hair, the beautiful Priscilla. Birds in their natural surrounds are enchanting. Pomegranate and its luscious red hues.

Local wildlife help
Another hot day in Melbourne and it got up to 42 degrees celcius and hotter in some parts. Mr Magpie was back again visiting his trusty cold water bowl.

heatwave continues in melbourne
It’s 37 degrees celcius today in Melbourne. Another hot one and my water bowls are topped up for the local wildlife. I came across a smallish blue tongue lizard yesterday living in a retaining wall near my clothesline, which is a perfect spot as the local spider community reside there too. And a couple of days ago I watched as Mr. Echidna meandered from my backyard to the front garden, digging with his nose in the river pebbles and making a big mess; funny to watch. He was as big as a basketball. Then he scooted up and into my carpet rose bed and I haven’t seen him since.

Helping the local wildlife
I get such satisfaction to watch the local wildlife coming to my garden in the hope of some respite in these hot summers of ours and guzzling down some fresh cold water.
