In The Eltham Light

This work in progress is inspired by a quiet moment photographed in the bushland surrounds of Eltham. Created in soft pastel, the painting explores the gentle connection between a young girl and her horse, nestled within the dappled light and atmosphere of the Australian bush.

At this stage, I am allowing the scene to emerge gradually through layers of colour and memory, focusing on the feeling of place and the sense of wonder that can be found in simple childhood encounters with animals and nature.
