Plant more seeds
Plant more seeds is so close to my heart. I am related to this sweet child, she is an earthly child making a small attempt to save this planet we inhabit so harshly. Many of my paintings will include a child with a story or message to deliver. I hope you like the little story I’ve written about Elsie on her mission in the damp dirt.
She dropped a seed into each hole with care, then gently covered them with earth. After every few seeds, she would pat the soil softly.
As she finished the last row, Elsie looked up at the sky and said, “We have to be patient now, Button. Grandma says good things grow slow.” She poured water into the dirt to dampen the seedlings. Elsie then sat back on her heels, cuddling Button close, and stared at the little patch of seeds with her hopeful smile.
Not just sunflowers, but wonder and patience, And a heart learning to care for this big world we share, one seed at a time.
